FUSE Archive Help: Overview
FUSE Archive Queries
- Search FUSE Science Data: Search the FUSE science table for
available spectra of your favourite object or region of the sky. This will
be the page most FUSE researchers will want to use. Currently when you
mark files for retrieval from this page only the final association data
product (FITS file) and preview images are delivered. Raw and intermediate
data products can be retrieved by following the "Members" link on the result
form or via the "Search Individual Exposures" query.
- Search Individual Exposures: Perform a more detailed search for
individual FUSE datasets by choosing detailed observation constraints.
If files are marked for retrieval on these pages raw, processed and supporting
files are delivered.
FUSE Previews
Several plots are provided to enable an evaluation of the data quality of a
given FUSE observation.
- Three 6-point smoothed, flux calibrated spectra showing the SiC2A, LiF1A
and LiF2A channels covering the wavelength range from 910 to 1182 Angstroms.
- Individual links to previews of the summed spectra for each channel (A/B)
and detector (LiF1, LiF2, SiC1 and SiC2).
- The "Preview" link on queries produced from the "Search Individual
Exposures" query (or included on the "Individual Exposure Information" link
on the main preview page) provides additional graphical information for
evaluating the quality of the individual exposures. This includes
plots of the spectral image which show the positions of the extraction slit
on each spectrum and plots of the count rate versus time to show how well
a given target was centered in the aperture during the exposure.
